How much maintenance is required?

This depends mostly on the environment around your home as well as the product you use to protect your siding. While modulog is simple to maintain it does require additional coatings of protection over time. The sun’s uv rays are what do the most damage to any coatings. Approximately every 3-5 years on the sunniest side of the home will need to be treated. Other areas that do not get much sun or are covered by porches or awnings can last much longer, 5-10 years.

Does modulog pre-stain the log siding?

Yes. We recommend that you have modulog pre-stain your package before it is shipped. We use Ready Seal to coat the front and back of each piece and all four sides of the trim pieces. See our color options click here: Products
